The moment has arrived—I can now announce who will be hosting Stitching Day 2026. We thought it would be wonderful to ask Jacob de Graaf to return for our fifth Stitching Day, and he was delighted to accept.

The theme of this Stitching Day is Quaker samplers. In the morning, Jacob will give a lecture on these fascinating samplers. You’ll learn more about where they were stitched, their symbolism, and—of course—you’ll receive an exclusive Quaker pattern designed by Jacob. We’ve prepared a kit for you based on this pattern. In the afternoon, we’ll dive into a workshop project, also inspired by Quaker stitching. I’ve already seen it, and I can reveal that we’ll be using a finishing technique we’ve never tried before! Since we now have participants joining us from abroad, we’ll hold the event in English on Saturday 30th May 2026.

For the exclusive pattern, you can choose between red or blue thread. We’ll select the matching fabric color for you, ensuring a beautiful combination. The thread color you choose will also be used for the afternoon workshop.

As in previous years, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the shop in the afternoon. We’ll split the group in two, and after the tea break, we’ll switch. For your kit, you can choose between 32, 36 and 40 count linen. Please note that the thread amount is calculated for stitching with one strand.

If you prefer to stitch with two strands, you can order an extra thread set. For the workshop, you’ll receive either 32 or 36 count linen, depending on the fabric you have chosen for the exclusive design kit. If you’ve chosen 40 count fabric for your kit, you’ll receive 36 count fabric for the workshop. If you cannot stitch on linen or prefer 28 count linen, please let us know when you register. We’ll see what we can do, but keep in mind that additional costs may apply.

As in previous years, Stitching Day will be held at Hotel Het Wapen van Drenthe. If you’d like to stay overnight, mention that you’re attending Stitching Day to receive a 10% discount.
